15 – 17. April New York City

Hallo aus Atlanta! Wir waren ein paar Tage in New York. Von dort ging ein relativ günstiger Flug nach Frankfurt, wohin Dr Ev geschäftlich musste und meine Mutter dann mitgenommen hat. Singapur Airlines im A380 … Bjarne und ich flogen von New York wieder nach Hause.

Hello from Atlanta! We have been few days in New York because a „not to expensive“ flight with Singapore Airlines gone to Frankfurt. Dr Ev made business trip and care about my mother on this flight back to Germany. Bjarne and I flown home to Atlanta.

Am ersten Tag in New York kamen wir ca. 15:00 Uhr am Hotel an, dem Residenz Inn Central Park am Broadway. Wir wohnten im 47 ten, meine Mutter im 64 ten Stockwerk. Danach gingen wir Richtung Time Square, wo wir toll zu Mittag aßen. Nachmittags stand die Aussichtsplattform vom Rockefeller auf dem Programm. Abends ging es dann zum Italiener direkt neben dem Tina Turner Musical wo wir nach dem Abendessen waren. Das Musical können wir euch nur empfehlen! Danach genossen wir noch kurz die tolle Atmosphäre auf dem Time Square im Dunkeln…. Wobei da natürlich alles hell erleuchtet war!

Day one we arrived at the hotel around 3pm, the residents Inn Central Park at Broadway. Our room was at the 47th floor, my mother s room at 64 th. After check in we went to Broadway…Time Square. We found nice restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon we went to top of the rock viewing platform on roof of Rockefeller center. In the evening we went to Italian restaurant directly next door to Tina Turner Musical where we have been after dinner. This musical is world-class! Must see! After the show we went to time Square at night…but so many lights were there that nothing was dark!

Am zweiten Tag fuhren meine Frau und Bjarne zu einer Uni. Meine Mutter und ich gingen zur Großbaustelle Waldorf Astoria. Danach kamen wir an einen schönen Park fast am Empire State Building wo wir uns alle trafen zum Mittagessen im Park. Abends dann Harry Potter, und meine Mutter und ich gingen in eine Weinbar zur selben Zeit.

Die 5 th Avenue war komplett gesperrt für Autos weil dort Ostermarsch war. Viele hatten sich toll verkleidet. Die berühmte St Patrick Kathedrale ist dort auch.

The second day Evgenia and Bjarne went to an University and my mother and me walked to big building ( complete renovation) of Waldorf Astoria Hotel. The 5th avenue was completely closed for cars because of Easter walk. Lot of visitors were nice dressed. Then we walked to a park where we met the other for lunch in the park near empire State Building. The famous St Patrick kathedral is there too …in the evening Dr Ev and Bjarne went to Harry Potter and my mother and me to a winebar.

Am dritten und letzten Tag gab es, wie auch schon am zweiten, einen Feueralarm! Fahrstühle aus! Grosses Feuerwehrauto kam…wir mussten das Gepäck nach unten durchs Treppenhaus schleppen!!! Das passiert leider oft! Denkt daran, wenn ihr mal dort seid! Rechtzeitig die Koffer runter!😀😀😀 Danach gingen wir auf die 5 th Avenue zu Puma und Adidas, danach zum Central Park mit gutem Mittagessen und gegen 15 Uhr zum JFK Flughafen.

The third and last day we had like day before firealert! All our suitcases we brought at the stairs down!!! No lift was working! Big emergency car infront of the hotel! You should think about check out early not to have same situation! Stress?! This is normal in New York they told us! After this little shock we went Adidas and Puma on 5th avenue and to Central park and around 3pm after good lunch to the JFK Airport.
